Originally raised in West Sacramento, CA and now based in New York City, NY, Desmond Barrett is a Multi-Instrumentalist but primarily focuses on being a Saxophonist/Singer-Songwriter/Producer.

Known for his saxophone and piano playing in New York City, Desmond Barrett released his debut album, "Apollo" at the mere age of 20. He now takes the stage as a Singer-Songwriter, showcasing his talent as a rapper and producer with his EP "Skywalker" and Sophomore album "Icarus".

My Second Album.

2 Years ago, I decided to embark on a journey that would lead to me leaving everything I knew in California and coming here, to New York City.

In search of being the young man I yearned for, I found myself in grief, seclusion, amazement, and optimism as I continued forward. Sometimes it feels like everything is going against you.

But what you find, is everything is the way it's meant to be.

These are my moments and my reflections, as I jotted while living it--the only way I know how to."

"A P O L L O

My Debut Jazz Album.

I am extremely blessed to have the opportunity of being able to record with a masterful quartet. I turned 20 today and I never realized how far I've come because I am so unsure of what IS to come. But here I am, with my first Jazz Record.

I want to thank Adriel Vincent-Brown (Drums), Colson Jimenez (Bass), and Sterling Cozza (Piano) for helping me bring these ideas into the World. I would like to thank Jake Lummus of Grand Street Recording, Inc for Mixing and Mastering this Album and my dear friend and genius Dom Jackson for the Photography.

This album isn't just to display my talent, but a gift from everyone that helped birth my talent into being. Thank you for listening."

"S K Y W A L K E R

I wrote a lot of music in High School, that's where I began to produce and really dive into piano and saxophone. I made this whole EP to test my limits as a producer, but shortly it became a transparent look into the eyes of a teenage boy, dealing with heartbreak and a sense of ambition he had never learned to deal with.

This is a collection of songs I ONLY made back home in West Sacramento, CA. This EP was all made on GarageBand on my old iPhone 6s.

Listen and think back to the times when all you had to worry about was homework, all the anxiousness you would feel when you saw him/her at school. My friends and I would play this EP in my red Hyundai Elantra, eating In-n-Out, trying to figure out what life is...all at the age of 18."
